Can I use an expired ink cartridge in my Epson printer?

Epson does not recommend using expired ink cartridges in the printer. Do not use an unopened ink cartridge if the date on the package has expired. For best results, use ink cartridges before the expiration date printed on the package (and within six months of installation in the printer). Replace expired cartridges with new ones.

You may need to replace a cartridge that is more than six months old, if your printouts do not look their best, even after cleaning and aligning the print head. We recommend you store any unused or unopened ink cartridges in a cool, dark place.
